About This Project

Made for a Natick Home by Elizabeth Gourley Design Blossoming in the very centre of Natick, this stunning landscape renovation exemplifies the fantastic design talent within Elizabeth Gourley Design. The goal is to create a comfortable outdoor area that is not just beautiful but functional for the client who enjoys nature. It was a gorgeous balance of native plants, hardscapes, and sustainable materials. Through the gardens filled with perennials and ornamental grasses selected for durability and season-long interest, a meandering bluestone pathway beckons visitors. They placed custom built cedar raised garden beds to add visual interest as well as having a productive space for the homeowner to grow their own vegetables and herbs. This was one of the few notes we faced, based on the location with sloping land, a solution had to be come up with to ensure efficient drainage through the plants avoiding soil erosion. A multi-tiered granite retaining wall system designed and engineered by the team stabilizes the landscape but also creates an aesthetic bastion made from readily available material. This care allowed the design to thrive for years and the plants to flourish. The end result is an outdoor sanctuary that both aesthetically elevates the curb appeal of the property and offers the homeowners an escape of peace and serenity. The pathway and garden bed lighting offers day and night enjoyment of the space. The Natick Residence is representative of the work done by Elizabeth Gourley Design at the high level expected from this company.
