South Pasadena Spanish The June Scott Design team is excited to introduce to you the South Pasadena Spanish, a landscape that distinctly captures the spirit of the California Spanish revival style. Located in the lovely neighborhood of South Pasadena, this design embraces a beautiful combination of traditional charm with contemporary function. The lush landscape is planted with a variety of beautiful, drought-tolerant plants that blend seamlessly with the terracotta tile pathways, resulting in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Our team thoughtfully chooses a palette of native plants that includes various bougainvilleas, lavender, and succulents to produce a sustainable garden that is both beautiful and useful. We selected beautiful, handcrafted adobe-styled planters to reflect the region's architectural identity, while preserving our environmental consciousness. One of the initial challenges of the included the slight sloping elevation at the site and the clay-heavy soil. Our team skillfully designed a tiered garden that utilized natural stone retaining walls to create tiered levels of native plants that both help with drainage and allow the plants to grow. Additionally, we designed a custom outdoor living space with a rustic wooden pergola, perfect for climbing vines, to create an escape for family gatherings. The outdoor seating areas were created from reclaimed wood to accommodate lounging, and the focal point of the highlights a comforting water fountain that fills the outdoor space with gentle trickling water and invites wildlife into the garden space. Overall, the created an idyllic oasis that generated excitement beyond our clients' expectations and fulfilled their dreams and visions for both the outdoor space and their neighbors. Additionally, this not only elevated the usage of the existing outdoor space but also contributed to the overall aesthetic of the neighborhood and illustrated how effective landscaping is able to enhance the feeling and tone of a home.
