About This Project

Cliff May Modern A Landscape Overhaul by June Scott Design Located in Los Angeles, the 'Cliff May Modern' offered a unique opportunity for June Scott Design to blend modern aesthetics with the mid-century character of the home. This landscape renovation was extensive and aimed to improve the appearance of the property and create an outdoor setting that worked with the existing elements of the site. The design was detailed and included drought-tolerant native plants to develop a sustainable landscape that works well in California. We showcased stunning succulents, ornamental grasses, and trees that create interest while providing shade and privacy. To stay in line with the modern architecture, quality materials of products were used throughout the , such as smooth concrete walkways, warm wood decking, and sleek metal planters, creating a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor living. A crucial consideration was working with the very sloped conditions of the property. To improve drainage and create access, we were tasked with grading the property in a unique way. Our solution was to create tiered garden beds that provided drainage and add interest to the landscape. Low-voltage LED lighting was added throughout the garden to add sparkle and accents to the design and create additional opportunities for entertaining in the evening. In the end, we took this landscape to a stunning new level of beauty and experience for the homeowners, which ultimately will help improve value. The successful 'Cliff May Modern' showed our dedication and commitment to great craftsmanship and design solutions. The homeowners were excited with the transformation, delighted to have a new outdoor space that is now a focal point for gatherings and a calm oasis from the outside world. This is a representation of our commitment to designing landscapes that strengthen a property's aesthetic and improve the users' experiences for generations.
