The water feature is an exceptionally designed koi pond with surrounding native plantings that work beautifully in the site. Material selection included high-quality, durable materials such as natural stone on the edge of the pond to provide a seamless transition from water to land. Aquatic plants were selected that fit within the local climate, thrive at the same time, and also provide az habitat for wildlife, enhancing biodiversity. The only true challenge was working the water feature into the existing topography, which resulted in extensive grading and drainage detail leading into the pond core to ensure it could sustain itself. Our team of landscaping experts performed this drainage detail prior to the gauging material being placed, ultimately 'plumbing' the entire system with countless reservoirs placed to control runoff pressure thus assuring the water feature would hold for years to come. The outcome of the is a serene escape for relaxation, a property enhancement, and added value for the client. The sound of water, provided by the water feature, reached the next level under the lighting but during dusk was the icing on the cake for visual incentives. The client was most grateful for the change and relayed how much it offers a focal point for their outdoor space and increased value in their property and enjoyment.
