Located in downtown Shelburne, Church Hill Landscapes, Inc. has created the 'Shelburne Veggie Garden' from an underutilized backyard into a space that maximizes both function and vibrancy. This is a true expression of our quality craftsmanship and commitment to customer satisfaction for the lovely communities of Burlington, Charlotte, Colchester, Essex, Hinesburg, and beyond. The garden has a complicated layout that maximizes sun exposure and the distance between beds. The raised beds are made of local cedar wood, providing durability and the aesthetic look of a gardener's landscape. A complete variety of organic amendments were incorporated into the soil, allowing the client to grow anything from heirloom tomatoes to leafy greens. One of the primary challenges was the slope of the site - our team expertly developed a tiered way of planting plants, which fixed their erosion, and added a beautiful look. Drip irrigation lines were returned to maintain an engaged ecosystem that would conserve water while pushing growth all year round. The end product is a thriving edible landscape that is not only a functional produce space but a beautiful aspect of the client's outdoor area.
