Flagstone Patio, Seat Boulders, Water Feature, and Fire Pit; Windsor, CO 2016 This beautiful landscaping based in Windsor, Colorado, was completed by Colorado Vista Landscape Design, Inc. It showcases the balance between functional outdoor living space and natural beauty. The main attraction of the design is the large flagstone patio, designed from premium, local stone, which provides durability as well as beauty. The natural color of the flagstone complimented the existing landscape, giving a warm and inviting outdoor living space for entertaining as well as relaxing. In addition to the patio, the designer added a seat boulders to the design for additional seating, as well as a great interactive space to the area. The boulders are a natural product that creates a visually appealing accent to invite interaction with the landscape, while also providing additional seating area. The organic shape and texture of the boulders complements the flagstone shape and texture, and soften the hardscaping, blending the landscape seamlessly. A water feature was also included in the design. The water feature not only added an additional sensory aspect to the outdoor living space, but the soft trickle added serenity and tranquility to the outdoor experience. The water feature was also designed with ecologically-friendly materials and processes to minimize water consumption, while maximizing the aesthetic value of the feature. Lastly, the incorporated a fire pit as an extension to the design. The fire pit was built with high-quality materials that stand the natural elements. This is designed as a gathering space for family and friends to enjoy evenings outdoors, evenings watching the stars in comfortable warmth. The fire pit was located to enjoy the surrounding landscape while providing safety and function to the outdoor living space. Colorado Vista Landscape Design, Inc. encountered multiple challenges, due to the grading and soil conditions, as well as topography of the site. The team of skilled landscapers worked through these challenges and utilized innovative methods to provide a seamless installation. The completed is a beautiful outdoor living space that the clients enjoy and is converting their backyard into a functional outdoor retreat. This not only added visual appeal to the property, it has created a significant area for priceless memories with family and friends.
