Wayland Home Landscaping Latest Case StudyAlong the lines of our recent Turning a New Leaf in thechill of March, at 'a Blade of Grass' we enjoyed creating a blend of beauty and functionality in the periphery of a beautiful home in Wayland. This Landscaping was done to complement the internal landscaping of the property with functional outdoor areas for relaxation. We started with a consultation that lasted for hours with the client to understand the vision and the lifestyle. Other native plantings included colorful perennials, ornamental grasses and bold shrubs that performed well in the local climateso they not only provided color but also supported local biodiversity. This included a formal hardscape design, a custom stone patio in locally quarried bluestone and a thoughtful indoor to outdoor living transition. The property is quite uneven ground and that was one of our challenges. We had our team grade everything, working with the slope to create tiered garden beds that drained well while looking great. We also added decorative boulders and natural stone steps bringing even more beauty while maintaining access throughout the yard. Low-voltage LED lighting complements the plantings and hardscape with a warm glow over the pathways and accenting landscape features after dark. We also focused on choosing sustainable materials for every single detail and made sure it is beautiful and good for the nature. The end product is simply an organic fusion of two realms nature and design, granting these owners a tranquil environment as an extension of their home. The client was overjoyed with the result, and could not have asked for a better integration of the landscape with the home, and useable space to enjoy in the back yard.
