Contemporary Backyard Landscape in Houston, TX Gregory/Henry Landscapes, this remarkable contemporary backyard landscape in Houston, Texas took our office to demonstrate our design expertise, quality work, and commitment to customer satisfaction. Right in the heart of the city, this job consisted of a thorough design that articulated and merged modern design with the existing landscape. The included an expansive outdoor living space, replete with a custom, sustainable cedar wood pergola, creating a relaxing environment for living and entertaining. A punching combination of native Texas plants including ornamental grasses and low-maintenance succulents were included in the design, providing lasting color without the addition of irrigation in Houston's climate. Regular topographic or terrain can also impact outdoor usability, which we helped overcome with the introduction of tiered landscaping to promote outdoor living use, providing variety of depth and several different levels of usability. Naturally durable materials including natural stone pavers and decorative gravel were used to install beautiful pathways to reinforce the civility of the immersive scenery. The installation of a traditional water feature and LED lighting promote the ambiance of the space night and day. Carefully positioned LED light for example allows the landscape to highlight its very best at night by introducing motion and intrigue after sunset. Each step of the process, from the initial consultation through the final walkthrough, we catered to the concerns of the client so their vision for the landscape would come alive. The finished result is awe-inspiring, providing an incredible outdoor area for family get-togethers, outdoor dining, and even some quiet time staring up at the stars.
