The design incorporates modern interpretations of traditional elements. A fresh, elegant stone patio with locally-sourced flagstone offers durability and beauty in exterior living space. A palette of native plantings fills the landscape with color and structure, including azaleas, gardenias, and large oak trees for shade, life, and beauty in the garden. A continuous pathway of native crushed stone, with articulated river stones at each edge, guides you away and through the landscapes to reveal hidden areas. We faced a challenge with the existing drainage issue that would have compromised the aesthetic and functional uses of the backyard. Our team resolved the challenge with an elegant and effective drainage system that served a main purpose to take downspouts away from the home. Drainage was adequately incorporated into the landscape design to be inconspicuous, preserving all the beauty and accessibility of the land. The bottom line is that the backyard offers the homeowners an oasis spaceto relax and entertain. The design offers balance and proportion to ensure elegant and functional use of all space.
