Across from Thornton Academy Our environment, our community, and our artistry is on display with this that exemplifies our push for quality and creativity, while developing north of Biddeford, Gorham, and serving Portland. After an extensive consultation to understand the clients views and what was important, the evolved to develop a design plan that relates intimately with the site and its wider natural landscape. Our team carefully selected native plant species suitable for the region that would ensure low maintenance and sustainability. Perennial flower beds, vivid ornamental shrubs, and a well designed hardscape were included so that the deciduous trees that were eventually spaced would fill in a lush and inviting landscape through all four seasons. The uneven levels of the site and the drainage issues were two of the primary challenges we had to contend with. We avoided this by using creative grading methods and by building an extensive drainage system to control and handle runoff without erosion. We also used rich stone materials for our paths and our retaining walls, which also added beauty but also strength from erosion. The end product is a stunning tableau that marries beauty to utility. A beautiful local bluestone patio where you can gather with family and friends, meandering pathways to encourage you to explore the colourful gardens. Combined with soft lighting, this ambience too celebrates the space to be enjoyed in all hours. The fact that our client was over the moon the final result shows our commitment to great craftsmanship and design.
