About This Project

Glencoe Garden Retreat Located in the midst of Glencoe, they deserve recognition as an award winning landscaper, home to the Glencoe Garden Retreat, built by Greenwise Organic Lawn Care and Landscape Design. This had turned an expanse underused back yard, into a place for calm and relaxation, as well as a space for outdoor entertaining. The design process started with an analysis of the site topography and existing vegetation allowing us to design a scheme that really responded to the natural landscape. We included native plants sustainable in the local climate low maintenance. Robinson installed a winding flagstone pathway that meanders through the flower beds, which spill forth in colorful varieties, while rocks have been strategically placed around swaths of lawn both as a design element and as seating. The ground was not particularly leveled out, making it hard for us to run machinesbut we solved that by grading the land and building up grow sites with organic top soil. As a result, it helped to keep the planters level, and promoted a tiered effect, which enhances the garden with depth. A custom pergola cloaked in climbing vines became a shaded oasis and a conversation starter. The result: a stunning landscape that includes a serene water feature, colorful perennial gardens, and an outdoor living space with a fire pit and sitting area. The end client was very happy with how it turned out and said that we succeeded with the integration of beauty and function. The 'Glencoe Garden Retreat' is a testament to Greenwise's commitment to providing quality craftsmanship and creative design while also adding value to the natural landscape of the North Shore.
