Masonwood Estate: A Beautiful Combination of Nature and Design Completed by SURROUNDS Landscape Architecture + Construction, Masonwood Estate was the ultimate achievement in landscape design, turning a large site into a peaceful haven. Located in the scenic surroundings of Aldie, this offers a beautiful combination of landscaping features that seamlessly incorporate the natural topography. The design includes hardscapes on display, such as pathways in bluestone from a local quarry that invite guests around gardens presented with care. A stunning water feature, with a custom pond and waterfall, acts as a calming anchor to the space. Native plants were used at the site to maximize color throughout the seasons with very little care. One of the biggest challenges we faced was dealing with the site’s sloping topography. Our team was able to creatively address water runoff and soil stabilization by utilizing terracing with reclaimed wood and natural boulders. The end result is truly amazing. Masonwood Estate now has a rich interplay of greenery, colorful blooms, and thoughtful hardscaping all designed to give our clients a peaceful escape, and a beautiful place for outdoor entertaining. With every detail completed, this has added to the estate’s ultimate visual appeal and increased the property values.
