Residential Landscape at Avenel The 'Residential Landscape at Avenel' by SURROUNDS Landscape Architecture + Construction is located in the lovely community of Avenel, and represents a commitment to turning the outdoor environment into a peaceful landscape. The is a comprehensive landscape that combines functional and aesthetic design, while showcasing the natural beauty of the region. A variety of features were designed and constructed as part of the , including a handcrafted stone patio using locally-sourced bluestone, providing an elegant yet durable surface for entertaining. Surrounding the patio are numerous native plant and perennial species to provide both colorful and low-maintenance living throughout the year. Decorative pathways were designed of hand-picked river stone leading from the patio to two seating areas where family and friends may enjoy the tranquil landscape. One of the interesting challenges of the was dealing with the natural sloping of the site. Our team of designers and builders provided innovative terracing options for the landscaping that were resourceful and practically efficient. For example, we used locally-sourced boulders and timber retaining walls, achieving an attractive effective style while also promoting drainage, but helps create flat areas for planting material and passive use. The resulted in an extraordinary outdoor space that successfully met our client's imaginative expectations, but also worked effectively within the surrounding environment. The overall warm atmosphere of the space created by thoughtful design intentions makes the residential landscape comfortably feel rather like a landscape.
