About This Project

Fort Lauderdale Canal Residence LandFluent Landscape Architecture is proud to present the Fort Lauderdale Canal Residence, an extraordinary transformation of a large waterfront property into a peaceful, dynamic oasis. Located along the scenic canals of Fort Lauderdale, this perfectly represents our talented, dedicated, and quality-oriented team of landscape designers. The included a complete site overhaul, including lush tropical gardens, native plant beds and gardens, and a beautiful array of hardscape elements. We were pleased to use wonderful materials like natural stone pavers, reclaimed teak decking, and eco-permeable paving to help seamlessly connect the indoor and outdoor spaces. During the process, we faced one major challenge regarding the site's topography and being next to the water. We were also pleased we were able to utilize our work to maintain proper drainage and help with limiting erosion. In addition, we came up with a robust grading plan for drainage, but we also used some visually pleasing boulders to complement the landscape. After researching we were able to find drought tolerant plants suited for the area to support mood and sustainablity. The result is an inviting outdoor living space which features a custom-designed pool, a soothing water feature, and distinct seating areas, providing the perfect backdrop for family and friend gatherings. The combination of the lush flowers and sounds of the water create an inviting space for this property owner's delight and adds to this house's stunning waterfront view.
