Laguna Beach Residence by LandFluent Landscape Architecture Located within the idyllic coastal community of Laguna Beach, the Laguna Beach Residence embodies the skill and craftsmanship of LandFluent Landscape Architecture. This outdoor fulfills the aspirational goal to mix organic beauty with functional design while creating an outdoor experience that reflects the gorgeous views of the ocean. By implementing a well-considered selection of drought tolerant native plants, we not only ensured the landscaping would grow but also flourish in the coastal climate while doubling down on the owner's commitment to minimizing water demand while appealing to the natural beauty of the landscape. The beautiful hardscape of the included a stone patio and stone pathways fabricated from materials locally sourced, all of which were blended with living plantings, where durability and elegance meet in form and function. One of our key challenges was the dramatic grade of the site, which reinforced our need to develop tiered gardens that would help with erosion and be more accessible. Again, with diligent planning and craftsmanship, we were able to construct retaining walls to follow the natural contour of the land, providing beautiful terracing and planting of flowering plants. The ended with beautiful outdoor living space that created a custom fire pit and seating area to relax and gather together. The inclusion of soft ambient lighting added a new dimension for evening use, extending the invitation to enjoy the outdoor space and landscapes beauty after sunset. The result exceeded client expectations while creating a tranquil escape the client can enjoy reflecting the coastal charm of Laguna Beach.
