About This Project

2040 Laguna Beach LandFluent Landscape Architecture is excited to present the '2040 Laguna Beach' . This is a beautiful redesign that combines coastal sophistication with sustainable practices. This located in Laguna Beach, created challenges to condition an arboretum of native planting in a rugged landform and ashore conditions found in Laguna Beach. As a team, we carefully curated a plant palette that was both drought tolerant, and designs using indigenous stones that display beauty and sustainability. This has natural terracing gardens that line down the hillside area to reflect and compliment the home while allowing seamless transitions to oceanic views below. We custom designed a path that uses reclaimed wood with natural stones that weave visitors through the gardens into the lively plants, and into the nighttime landscape with light incorporated into the jobs elements. One of the challenges of this site was to manage soil erosion. Our knowledgeable team designed a drainage plan that retains the natural topography, and allowed for proper landscaping functions. The water feature was an additional bonus that provides ambience while allowing asset value now and into the future with its ecological benefit, attracting local wildlife. Overall, the produced an aspect and functional area that the client found to be a peaceful outdoor space that invites a retreat. The '2040 Laguna Beach' showcases the quality workmanship and unique landscape design solutions that LandFluent provides specifically for coastal environments in Southern California.
