About This Project

Crooked Tree by Ventures Design Located in the center of Bloomfield Hills, the Crooked Tree showcases the creativity and commitment of Ventures Design to beautifying outdoor spaces. Working on this landscaping transformation began as a challenge to restore a sloped site suffering from erosive conditions and little vegetation. Our design team developed a multi-tiered garden that not only promoted proper soil conditions but preserved and reinforced the property's beauty. We created a dynamic canvas of native plantings that included hardy wildflowers and ornamental grasses, which tolerate the local climate and are attractive to pollinators. Beautiful, bluestone, pathways were constructed from local stone and create a sense of adventure as they weave through the garden. Raised beds were custom made with cedar to introduce height while promoting sustainable opportunities for growing vegetables and herbs. The water feature became one of the elements of the Crooked Tree that fell within the components of serene landscapes. This water feature was meticulously constructed from natural stone which promoted wildlife and soothing sounds. The presented other challenges to engineering and planning that included uneven surfaces and drainage. Our design team developed and implemented a drainage plan that was holistically designed to promote water flow without altering the landscape for longevity. The final outcomes are outstanding. The Crooked Tree presented a landscape of lush plants that reflect the client vision and compliments the beauty of the existing and surrounding landscape. Our dedication to sustainable solutions and quality craftsmanship has yielded an amazing landscape that provides beauty to the client's space and enhances the beauty of the local ecosystems.
