Master Plans In collaboration with Wantland Ink Landscape Architecture, PLLC Located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, the Master Plans is an exemplar of Wantland Ink Landscape Architecture's dedication to excellence and a timeless approach to thoughtful design. This landscape approach converted the expansive outdoor area into a harmonious fusing of beauty and functionality consistent with the aesthetic of the surrounding neighbors in Belle Meade, Brentwood, Forest Hills, Oak Hill, and beyond. Many intricate elements made up this that included native plant selections to encourage biodiversity and sustainability while celebrating the area's natural ambiance. Carefully placed flower beds included seasonal blooms creating a tapestry of color throughout the year. Restoratively placed trees offered shade and privacy from neighboring properties but visually supported sightlines. High-quality materials were designed into the that included permeable pavers serving as path systems characterizing spaces while improving drainage and minimizing runoff - a concern in Nashville's unpredictable climates. A custom water feature offered a calming experience while bring a sense of the community for bats and local wildlife. The team faced unforeseen challenges such as extreme variations in soil conditions and existing grade changes. All challenges were resolved through the exercise of clear planning and functional engineering to help drive the design towards a unified design with a sustainable landscape aesthetic. Master Plans solidified delighted firm clients and the surrounding community, as the brought forward a case study into a functional, modern lens of landscape implementation. Further, the was situated to provide outdoor living space behind the existing property line while steering a strategy if developing a responsible estimation of build to critiqued principled approaches.
