Daniels Island Residence, Charleston The 'Daniels Island Residence' , completed by REMARK, is a prime example of how we combine quality and aesthetics in our landscapes while working in the beautiful, natural setting of Daniels Island, Charleston. At Daniels Island, we designed and ultimately installed a lush garden landscape, which perfectly aligns with the coastal character of the landscape's surrounding scenery. The began by us completing a thorough site analysis whereby our team identified significant points of interest as well as potential issues related to soil conditions and drainage- which are especially common in the Lowcountry. We utilized high-quality materials that were locally sourced, including native plants that grow happily in Charleston, thus contributing to the sustainability and low maintenance of the landscape. A custom patio comprised of natural stone was built as an architectural feature that connects the indoor space to the outdoor area, all while creating a beautiful transitional space. We added a varied selection of flower beds, evergreen shrubs, and ornamental grasses around the patio, that bloom at different times throughout the year, resulting in seasonal waves of color and providing year-round beauty and interest to the property. Each landscape was outfitted with a robust irrigation system, knowing that the weather in the region can be unpredictable. A beautiful photo-worthy addition to the landscape was the integrated water feature, which was designed with both an aesthetic focal point and habitat for wildlife in mind. The water feature provided a photo-worthy addition and tranquil feature for the homeowners to enjoy. The was completed while working with deadlines, and navigating around existing structures and trees. Our team worked closely with the homeowners to make sure that we incorporated their entire vision, while also rendering help in resolving issues by thinking outside-of-the-box. The finished product is an experience for our clients that was uplifting, fulfilling their vision and optimizing their ability to enjoy life on Daniels Island.
