Outdoor Courtyard Forced Walkout Basement Colorado Vista Landscape Design, Inc. is excited to showcase the , 'Forced Walkout Basement Outdoor Courtyard," an exciting landscaping that reimagined outdoor living for clients in Fort Collins. The design of the courtyard was created to make the walkout basement more pleasant to be in and provide the client with a seamless indoor-outdoor transition. The design included a selection of native Colorado materials - specifically plants that would be resilient enough to stay colorful and appealing year-round! Luxurious stone pathways out of locally harvested flagstone added some rugged durability while blending with the natural surroundings. The design features an open-air firepit around gathering and relaxing seating for the family. One of the most difficult challenges in the was the steep slope all around the walkout basement. The team carefully designed tiered landscaping by utilizing natural boulders and retaining walls to address the aesthetics and function of the design. This helped utilize the space, along with giving the area proper drainage while allowing for erosion control. The addition of lighting was carefully created along with the rest of the design to make sure it picked up the features of the courtyard while having special considerations for safety and warmth in the evening. A water feature was incorporated to provide sounds of nature which added to the ambiance making the courtyard inviting for relaxation. The completed result is an unbelievable outdoor space that exceeded the expectations of the client. This was a previously none-used area that turned into a colorful and inviting courtyard.
