Garden Rebuild by The Peoples Gardening Collective Located in the heart of the Greater Seattle Area, the 'Garden Rebuild' exemplifies The Peoples Gardening Collective's mission to turn outdoor spaces into beautiful rest areas. This took place in the beautiful neighborhood of Bellevue, and it was created to build on the client's garden, in order to improve biocultural diversity and sustainability. This started with an intense look at the existing landscape which was over run by invasive species and poorly draining soils. The team wanted to create a more functional garden while maintaining its natural beauty, made with high quality, eco-friendly materials such as permeable pavers for paths, for example, and locally-sourced native plants that would create a self-sustaining ecosystem. The rebuild's primary s included a stunning stone patio made from a natural flagstone, which provided a beautiful area for family and friends to gather. There was also a custom-built raised vegetable garden made from reclaimed cedar, to promote sustainable gardening practices that would allow the client to harvest their own seasonal produce right outside of their home. Finally, they introduced a calming water feature that serves as an aesthetic focal point while also attracting local wildlife, encouraging biodiversity. The incredible work of this talented team was challenged throughout the , with steep terrain and limited access to heavy machinery being two of the multiple operational issues. The team used inventive landscaping processes and the ability to keep all aspects of the garden/building intact without sacrificing quality became tedious, but worth it. The was ultimately work of beauty. The gardens depth of color and various textures gave the client a beautiful area to use, peaceful and serene, for years to come. Their attention to detail and quality work produced a very happy client, creating a home for them that clearly reflects their values and way of living. Furthermore, The Rebuild stands as an example of The Peoples Gardening Collective's continued commitment to creating beautiful and functional landscapes that sit well with nature and its environment.
