MARVIN MAKEOVER by Coogan's Design Build Located in Marvin, North Carolina, the ‘Marvin Makeover’ is a reflection of Coogan's Design Build's vision to create gorgeous outdoor spaces. The essentially involved redesigning an existing residential yard space with a focus on outdoor living in both beauty and utility. This boasted a rich variety of native plants, drought-tolerant perennials, and carefully placed trees that improved the aesthetics of the property and added a sense of biodiversity. A number of high quality materials were used in the , with natural stone pavers chosen for a patio that is both elegant and appropriate for family gatherings. A fire pit made from locally sourced stone added warmth and added charm to family evenings together. The steep terrain of the property provided challenges in developing grading for appropriate drainage and stability. Our team's experts were able to creatively level the landscape while maintaining existing contours, ensuring drainage while incorporating a water feature that served as a focal point, and habitat for wildlife. The ‘Marvin Makeover’ ultimately embodies contemporary design and nature cohesively mixed as expected from the client. Lush plantings, intentional lighting, and sounds of bubbling water on the patio create a beautiful and livable outdoor space. The end result like this only enhances the curb appeal of the home as an outdoor oasis of entertaining and relaxation.
