Front Yard Curb Appeal and Makeover Completed by Colorado Vista Landscape Design, Inc. Located in Fort Collins, we recently completed a entitled "Front Yard Curb Appeal and Makeover." This exemplifies the philosophy of Colorado Vista Landscape Design, Inc. to transform outdoor living spaces to beautiful landscapes. Serving clients from Laporte to Windsor, we believed that updating a front yard could enhance not just its function but also the happiness of the homeowners. The started with a meaningful consultation with the clients to get the information we needed to understand their needs, their goals, and the opportunities and challenges of the organization of the original space. The existing space had issues with drainage, an overgrown garden bed, and a “blah” front path to the door. Our designer took all of that information and created one comprehensive plan that would solve all transitions, be thoughtful to establish a flow to provide curb appeal to their clients' home and make the homeowner excited for their home improvement ! We introduced a beautiful assortment of native Colorado plants to eliminate long-term environmentally conscious naturalization and client desirable upkeep. While ensuring colorful plants, we placed perennials like Echinacea and Salvia to allow for interest in the yard throughout the entire year while using elements of texture and movement with drought-resistant grasses. Now we we got to work on improving drainage! We installed a “French” drainage system, to eliminate water pooling, while the drainage system became invisible in the arrangement of the installation of beds and the yard. The new pathway to the home was specified in natural stone pavers, which presented a rustic way to the entrance, durable, easy to maintain, and also more attractive too. We also incorporated a decorative boulder border around the flower beds which gave the beds more definition to the native species and softened the walk while adding an increase in a sense of sophistication. Lighting was also critical in this makeover. We installed light fixtures with LED lighting in strategic locations that illuminated and highlighted the lush foliage and the path for assistance in way-finding by the homeowner's guests while increasing safety, enjoyment, vibrancy, and interest from the beauty and functional performance of the overall landscaping. The final product was stunning. The front yard was a glorious invitation to the homeowner to their new oasis, representative of their style but also beautiful to also complement the beauty and richness of nature in the area. The grateful homeowners, expressed their satisfaction with their home being a "beacon of charm" they could be proud of in their neighborhood. The not only enhanced curb appeal, despite being needed, but it also produced a sense of pride and happiness for the homeowner and their guests to enjoy.
