About This Project

Los Feliz Mediterranean by June Scott Design The 'Los Feliz Mediterranean' by June Scott Design, situated in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, epitomizes the ideal marriage of form and function, which brings Mediterranean landscapes alive. This new work spans a large residential property with landscaped gardens, pathways, and abundant vibrant flowers integrated with the natural lay of land. Different landscaping elements were selected for their Mediterranean elegance to capture the flavor of Mediterranean aesthetics. The design included terracotta pots of beautiful and fragrant herbs, a beautiful water feature on the property, and a selection of drought tolerant plants suitable for California's climate. The high quality, sustainably sourced materials selected prominently featured natural stone and reclaimed wood. One of the challenges we faced was the steep slope of the lot. To create usable, outdoor space and minimize soil erosion, our crew devised and implemented various creative terracing solutions to stabilize the slope from behind. With integrated areas for native plants and retaining walls, what could have been a problem became tiered gardens and breathtaking vistas. The final outcome lent itself to tranquility and relaxation away from life's hustle and bustle, designed to lounge in the shade or dine with friends, making this space ideal for entertaining friends. The client was overjoyed with how the work transformed this property. They said the finished landscape truly embraced their lifestyle; furthermore, it beautified their house and addressed sustainable practices. With an unwavering attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, June Scott Design has exceeded client expectations once again and delivered an exceptional landscape which embodies the Los Feliz experience.
