About This Project

Linda's Zen Garden At Alford's English Gardens Inc., we take pride in transforming ordinary properties into extraordinary retreats. Our most recent , 'Linda's Zen Garden,' illustrates the quality of service offered to our clients in Cerritos, Huntington Beach, Lakewood, Long Beach, and nearby areas. Linda's Zen Garden sought to be a peaceful retreat from busy suburban life, an oasis in the heart of an active neighborhood. The garden was created using hardscape and softscape incorporating natural stone pathways, lush plants, and water features, ultimately creating a calming environment. The pathways incorporated river stones sourced locally to blend harmoniously with the natural environment, and were suitable to ensure durability and ease of maintenance. The biggest challenge with the was the slop of the land and how to work with it. Our staff effectively graded the lot, which not only improved the layout but also made it accessible and visually appealing. Native flora, such as bamboo and Japanese maples, were utilized while complimenting the Zen spirit of the garden. A beautiful koi pond became the central feature of the garden this feature was enhanced with rocks perfectly selected and placed in a composition around the water, and the fish and other aquatic plants, brought movement and ambient noises with the sound of water flowing. The final transformations brought a beautiful retreat, one Linda could have only imagined. There was a perfect balance of elements a calming experience along with wonderful plantings. The attention to detail and quality craftsmanship in every aspect of the was a reflection of Linda's vision, and extended to looking beyond plants for each part of the design.
