The Wise - An Amazing Transition From Ventures Design Ventures Design is proud to present "Wise," a carefully curated landscape exemplifying the best in outdoor design. This job, located in central Birmingham, is a great representation of our commitment to quality and original design, and it was specifically customized for its beautiful neighborhood. The Wise features a delightful mix of plantings, hardscaping, and sustainable materials. We worked collaboratively to identify a robust selection of native plants that coordinate well with the local climate, welcoming biodiversity, pollinators, and overall habitat. A beautiful stone path made of locally mined flagstone adds the piece de resistance, which weaves through the garden to create a sense of curiosity and contemplation. One issue we faced was how to handle the unique topography of the site. We employed terracing with drainage that not only addressed some of the potential runoff but also provided visual beauty. Adding to the "topography," we included decorative boulders and raised beds to share the natural contour of the landscape, elevating and encouraging curiosity and interaction. Our craftsmen were diligent and thoughtful the finishes, from the integrated lighting fixtures that highlight the garden through the evening to the custom wooden trellises to encourage the vine and provide structure. The client has a beautiful outdoor sanctuary to relax, entertain, and appreciate the outdoor experience. The Wise is a testament to the dedication of Ventures Design to quality, originality, and client satisfaction.
