NORQUIST Residence by Verde Creations, Inc. Situated in the beautiful landscape of El Dorado Hills, the NORQUIST Residence demonstrates Verde Creations, Inc.'s dedication to landscape excellence. This changed an underused outdoor area into a delightful garden oasis that unites natural beauty and usable outdoor living. Our work began with a comprehensive site analysis to assess the existing topography and microclimates of the properties. This thorough planning allowed us to site the various portions of the thoughtfully in the path of the sunlight and to facilitate the drainage of stormwater. The site includes a wide variety of native grasses, shrubs, and flowering plants, such as California poppies and lavender, carefully selected for their locally adapted hardiness and minimal maintenance needs, while providing an abundance of sensory experiences in the landscape and hospitality spaces, attracting beneficial insects to their oasis. One of many features, a beautiful stone patio, was completed using local flagstone, creating an aesthetic resistance for the entertaining area of this space. The dramatic patio leads into a custom fire pit surrounded by seating for family gatherings or individual quiet time under the stars. A sustainable irrigation system was integrated into this landscape, reducing water consumption while keeping the landscape alive and flourishing. The included several challenging elements, including inappropriate slopes and protecting existing trees on the site. The production team came up with several solutions, including terrace and natural stone retaining walls, not only to provide stability to the sloped areas but to create interesting visual elements in the landscape. The finished is a successful integration of usable spaces and natural beauty with paths meandering throughout the plan to facilitate exploration and relaxation. The NORQUIST residence is now a beautiful outdoor oasis that meets the homeowners' lifestyles while connecting them to nature. They have remarked how happy they are with the final product and how it has brightened their home with improved outdoor use, a sanctuary in the middle of their backyard.
