MODERN FARM HOUSE by Verde Creations, Inc. Located in the beautiful area of El Dorado Hills, Verde Creations, Inc.'s 'MODERN FARM HOUSE' successfully combines a contemporary design with the rustic aesthetic of its surrounding landscape. The large outdoor area was designed specifically to complement the modern architectural features of the home while providing a family-friendly space for gatherings and relaxation. The outdoor living space designed for this features a large patio space constructed of natural bluestone pavers with cedar wood accents. A built-in fire pit creates an elegant evening gathering experience for the family and their guests, while keeping the warmth of a fire and atmosphere for stargazing California nights. The patio is surrounded by low-maintenance native plants that create a lush space to appeal to the site's climate while reducing water usage and keeping the landscape wild and inviting year-round. The site posed some limitations for Verde Creations with uneven slopes of the property; therefore, the landscaping team had to create thoughtful design decisions to transition from one patio and gathering space to outdoor dining. The team worked to grade the property to create tiered garden beds between the patio and the dining area to both visually transition the space and facilitate healthy drainage. The garden beds contain hand-selected drought-resistant plants to introduce texture and color to season. To enhance the landscape, a custom irrigation system was installed and uses smart technology to allow the plants and lawns to thrive, while also being efficient with water usage. A pathway, constructed of decomposed granite, uses a solar-powered lighting system to lead visitors throughout the gardens, while promoting safety and ambiance. The result is a transformative outdoor oasis that reflects the homeowner's vision of a modern, yet cozy space. The clients shared that they were very pleased with the transformation and that it served their functional needs while exposing beauty to the site.
