Landscapes like this designed to bring out the best of the mountain vistas of Yampa Valley while integrating with the local area. A three-tiered patio with locally acquired flagstone was included in the design to make the transition from home to outdoors nearly effortless. Using only durable materials, Bloom's team ensured longevity, including native stone walls that are both functional and visual elements. Note These stone walls were built to hold soil back from sliding down the hillside, but they also helped create a flat area for a colorful flower garden with all sorts of perennials and native shrubs that will survive Routt County’s weather conditions. The faced several challenges, but one of the most significant was the steep incline and variable terrain of the hilltop site. But to get the team past these challenges, lots of planning and engineering was put in place where stability does not obscure the beauty of the countryside. The hardscape also needed to handle runoff water, so custom drainage solutions were implemented to protect hardscape materials but also vegetation as well. A major feature of the Hilltop #2 was an outdoor living space which includes a fire pit with seating area to watch beautiful sunsets over the valley. The introduction of ambient lighting not only improves the aesthetics of the scenery at night, but also offers a pleasant and comfy space for congregations. The client was extremely pleased with the results of their property, with statements how well the new landscape fit into the surrounding environment and how it had made the perfect gathering spot for family and friends. Hilltop #2 is the latest example of Bloom Concrete & Landscape Design keeping its standard of excellence and innovation at the forefront of every Steamboat Springs area and beyond landscaping job.
