Russian River Retreat This , d Russian River Retreat, took place in Northern California's wine country. Geared for Growing Landscape Services refurbished a picturesque riverside property into a spectacular outdoor space. Serving Forestville, Fulton, Geyserville, and beyond, our team had the responsibility of complementing the landscape to the natural beauty of the Russian River, in a practical and aesthetically pleasing way. The included native plant selections that thrive in the local climate, which were selected specifically to add beauty and support local wildlife, such as California poppies and ferns. The team also utilized sustainable materials, such as stone sourced locally, for the pathways and patios, which melded the home to the garden space. This, plus a custom-built redwood deck that overlooks the river created a perfect space for relaxation and entertaining. One of the largest challenges of the was the slope of the property, which required drainage solutions to keep harmful pooling of water and runoff from ruining native plants, and promote stability to the new landscape. With this challenge, our team devised terraced planting beds which addressed those issues through both design and practical means, while also making the space visually interesting. In conclusion, the was a beautiful retreat with which the client was delighted, while really celebrating the nature of the Russian River. The Russian River Retreat showcased the team's ability to create an inviting hardscape that melds with lush plant life, and also is a prime example of Geared for Growing Landscape Services' approach to quality workmanship and design. Our client is thankful for the outdoor sanctuary they have created for themselves, their guests, and the wildlife around them while being a respected feature to look at in Sonoma County.
