Kathy's Garden by Liquidscapes Situated in an iconic landscape of New Vernon, Kathy's Garden is a beautiful transformation by Liquidscapes, a leader in luxury landscape design. Kathy wanted an inviting outdoor oasis that flowed with her home and provided an enjoyable space for relaxation and entertaining. The Liquidscapes team began the by analyzing the existing terrain and climate considerations, which presented various challenges due to the sloped site conditions coupled with varying sun exposure throughout the day. In order to address these site related challenges, we ultimately decided on a multi-level garden design that incorporated a beautiful setting of locally sourced stone retaining walls of bluestone. Not only were the retaining walls aesthetically pleasing but they provided stabilization of the sloped areas while also creating planting compartments that could accommodate an array of plant life. A selection of native varieties of vibrant perennials and ornamental grasses were then planned and arranged in ways that complimented the site while adding seasonal color and diversity with minimal maintenance. Beyond the planting beds and beautiful flowers, a custom bluestone patio provides a great area to relax and enjoy. The handmade stone patio is similarly surrounded by low-voltage landscape lighting that reflects the beauty of the garden and provides safety during evening gatherings. A small stone fire pit surrounded by seating space, provides warmth for cool evenings and a social setting for family and friends. The final product was simply stunning. Kathy's Garden is a lush and vibrant repentance of her personality and way of life. The right selection of materials and plants, put together with dedication to fine workmanship created a wonderful space that enhances the character of the home and provides an enjoyable retreat.
