Deb's Retreat Located in New Vernon, 'Deb's Retreat' represents a spectacular landscape of Liquidscapes, makers of high-end landscape design serving fantastic communities from Alpine to Princeton. The took a sprawling site and turned into a peaceful retreat that blends nature and outdoor living, while enhancing the natural beauty of the space. The purpose of Deb's Retreat was to provide a peaceful retreat that blended with the surrounding landscape. Liquidscapes utilized a large selection of native plants for sustainability and low maintenance, while still fulfilling the desire to enhance the natural beauty of the site. Unique rich textures and colors were chosen to enhance seasonal vibrancy by using both perennials and ornamental grasses. One of the focal features of the was the intricately designed stone patio using bluestone sourced locally. The hardscape was structurally and aesthetically very sturdy, and provided a seamless transition from the interior of the home into the outdoor living space. A rustic fire pit was custom designed to allow intimate gathering space beneath the stars, arranged to provide seating that flows across the entire patio. Liquidscapes also made a beautiful wandering path, that is illuminated by soft ambient light sources, leading guests through the lush gardens. The gardens provide plenty of flowering shrubbery and evergreen trees to create not just an aesthetic, but a natural screen for privacy as well. The team faced the challenge of varying elevation and rocky terrain to navigate, however they had enough experience to provide unique solutions such as terracing planting beds for structure and stability. The end result of 'Deb's Retreat' is spectacular in its own right. Our client was very pleased during our follow-up visit, and expressed that their space fulfilled the original purpose behind their dream to create a personal retreat both for themselves, and for entertaining guests.
