Summary: Sammamish Outdoor Living + Dining Alderwood Landscape Architecture and Construction is excited to share the 'Sammamish Outdoor Living + Dining' , a remarkable update of a rarely used back yard to an outdoor oasis. The was designed and built in the center of Sammamish and emphasizes function as well as form, all with an eye toward the homeowner's goal of a space for entertaining. This included an open-air dining space highlighted with custom built cedar pergolas that provided shade as well as great style. The patio was constructed of locally quarried stone, providing added durability and fit with the established landscaping. The outdoor kitchen, which contained a high-end grill and granite counter tops were designed for family gatherings and outdoor dining all year long. One of the more significant challenges for the was dealing with an existing slope in the back yard. Rather than introduce walls and a large amount of fill dirt to make the level, we instead carefully graded the area so it maintained some slope, but improving both the visual interest and drainage of the area. We were careful to select the planting to select low-maintenance native plants and ornamental grasses that fit well with the established landscape of the Pacific Northwest. The result is a beautiful outdoor living area that provided the right mix of relaxing and entertaining space for the homeowner.
