Hunting lodge landscaping MALA LLC Overgrown garden Cleanup scrub clearance Midwestern forest In the heart of the mid-west, the Hunting Lodge by MALA LLC Michael Ashley Landscape Architecture is a picturesque melding of nature and craftsmanship. Working within the lively neighborhoods of Fairway, Grandview, Independence, Kansas City, and the surrounding areas, our team had a job to dotransforming a property from rustic to a calm, peaceful, functional outdoor space. With a combination of native plantings, natural stone paths and hand built timber structures. After overcoming hurdles associated with uneven terrain and existing drainage issues (which meant creative grading strategies and selective planting help aesthetics and performance on the site), With a specific focus on drought tolerant plants, we knew the landscape would thrive without the need for intensive upkeep and added components of a fire pit area and a water feature attracting the local wildlife. Quality really was the north star all the way through construction. We used locally sourced stone and sustainably harvested wood demonstrating our commitment to environmental stewardship. The combination ultimately leads to a beautiful landscape that ties the lodge together with nature, ideal for lounging and recreation. The client was delighted, and commented that the design beautifully married form and function. MALA LLC was proud to be able to enhance not only the worth of the property, but also create a space for many meetings and quiet moments outside with their Hunting Lodge which is a true testament to great landscape architecture.
