About This Project

Los Angeles Transitional The 'Los Angeles Transitional' , executed by June Scott Design, perfectly captures the elements of a modern aesthetic with classic comfort, converting a residential space to a quiet sanctuary. Located in the heart of Los Angeles. This included a full remodel of the front and backyard space, creating an environment to suit the homeowner's sophisticated tastes and to enhance the natural landscape. Highlights of the included a stunning flagstone patio, which became the centerpiece of the outdoor space for gatherings, along with outdoor seating and a custom fire pit for continued enjoyment for evening relaxation. Plant material from a wide variety of drought-tolerant and sustainable plants- including lavender, succulents, and ornamental grasses- were chosen to ensure year-round beauty while reflecting California's climate challenges while enhancing the landscape. Despite addressing the remodel of the , we were challenged by the off-grade topographic nature of the lot. We addressed and enhanced the by constructing tiered garden beds, that enhanced the visual appeal but improved drainage and soil stability. The additional products that were incorporated included natural stone retaining walls that provided structural integrity and rustic charm, perfectly suited to the transitional theme. In conjunction with hardscape and plant material, we included a series of ambient garden lights to emphasize key features, transforming the outdoor area to a magical up-lights space at night. The end product was a lush, inviting landscape that blurred indoor and outdoor life, while providing the homeowner with the perfect outdoor oasis. June Scott Design serves a wide area throughout Los Angeles, including Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, and more with quality craftsmanship and innovate landscaping solutions directed toward enhancing beauty and functionality. The 'Los Angeles Transitional' was an amazing testament to our commitment to quality and love for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
