The DnA Residence showcases a thoughtful blend of modern design and functional living, transforming a classic 1951 Venice bungalow into a contemporary haven. When faced with necessary foundation repairs, the owners seized the opportunity to enhance their home, expanding its footprint by approximately 500 sq. ft. This expansion allowed for a reconfiguration of the interior spaces, fundamentally redefining the home's relationship with its exterior surroundings. At the heart of the renovation is a newly designed kitchen that embodies both style and utility. The previous galley kitchen was a restrictive space, limiting the owners’ ability to entertain and connect with guests. The redesign has introduced an open and inviting culinary environment, seamlessly integrating with a dedicated dining room that enhances the overall flow of the home. This newly established dining area serves as a focal point, fostering community and togetherness, while large windows invite natural light and views of the serene backyard. The relocation of the front door has further optimized the living space, creating a welcoming foyer that integrates the entryway with the main living area. This strategic change alleviates the need for the living room to function as the primary circulation space, allowing for a more serene and organized ambiance. A striking blue feature wall elegantly delineates the public and private zones of the residence, adding a contemporary touch while maintaining the home's original charm.
