Located in the picturesque Fort Collins area, the transformed a previously underutilized space into a beautiful aquatic habitat that welcomes wildlife and homeowners alike. Our team began by conducting a complete site analysis to understand the existing topography and hydrology to ensure our design would integrate into the natural landscape. The heart of the is a delightful natural pond we built with non-toxic, eco-friendly materials to promote sustainability and contribute to local biodiversity. The pond itself is lined with natural clay and completed its rustic, elegant finish with a rustic border of natural stone. One of the main obstacles we faced was varied soil types, which created drainage issues and flooding, especially with heavy rain. With the help of the drainage system we engineered, and with a varying placement of native plants around the pond, the aesthetics of the pond improved, as well as the ecological balance of the immediate area. Our selection of native plants, such as beautiful water lilies and hearty reeds, would enhance the habitat for local wildlife while remaining low maintenance for the homeowners. The final product is a calming oasis, including a waterfall that gently cascades to provide an audio enhancement as well as aided aeration of the pond.
