About This Project

Hollywood Craftsman by June Scott Design A 'Hollywood Craftsman' was completed by June Scott Design in a Los Angeles neighborhood. This extensive landscaping enhanced a charming property into an exquisite outdoor experience. We aimed to maintain the strong Craftsman style of the architecture part of the way, with greenery making a seamless transition from architecture to nature. Our work included some wonderful highlights - the locally sourced flagstone we used to custom build a stone pathway through the garden beds was absolutely stunning. The design of the garden beds was an aspect of our installation that we were particularly proud of. Vibrant colors were used with native plants such as California poppies and lavender to invite beautiful insects and overall biodiversity to the yard. A custom built wood trellis that was too small for shade provided the clients a sitting area surrounded by climbing wisteria that had the potential to literally hang over their heads to bring a little charm to the bright daylight environment. One of the challenges encountered during installation was the site grade we had to work with. To address this, The team at June Scott Design used held back walls made out of reclaimed wood to create several terraced gardens that provided path points for drainage. Not only did this help us prevent soil erosion, it offered a variety of depths and dimensions to the yard and was remarkably ingenuitive while using used wood. Overall, the combination of beauty and function tells a tale of the owner's vision embodied in this , with lovely night lighting, and seating areas made for hanging out and gathering, creating a welcoming atmosphere for the yard. The clients were happy with the commencement of the s outcome and highlighted the craftsmanship and beautiful design of the beyond quality to improve their outdoor living as an improvement. June Scott Design continues to pride itself on quality and creativity as we engage in ample landscaping across neighborhoods in the East Los Angeles area, including but not limited to Alhambra, Pasadena, and West Hollywood.
