Winner: The Belo Family, Houston TX / This extensive included full renovations of the Belo family's front and backyard with a consideration for aesthetics and function. A smart combination of California native planting, drought-tolerant California landscape and a contemporary, sophisticated hardscape. Using high-end materials such as natural stone paths and decorative gravel helped this to maintain a natural flow and connecting people from one part of the outdoor living to the next. The main problem that we had to figure out was that the land was not flat. Team worked their magic grading the land for drainage and keeping the natural scenery intact. Managing these complexities needed meticulous planning and execution, however, with our experience, we were able to tackle these challenges with precision. Instead, we focused on creating an airy entrance with flower beds packed with visual impact, accentuated by custom stone edging that introduces texture and contrast into the front yard. And the back yard was a personal paradise a vast expanse of stamped concrete patio ideal for entertaining. We also added a warm fire pit served by a thoughtful set of low seating to draw the family out at night. The end result was a stunning outdoor space that fully enjoyed the space and exceeded the experience of the client. The Belo family was overjoyed with a well-deserved landscape that offers natural beauty, functionality, and sustainability.
