About This Project

Dallas Residence 2 The Garden Design Studio is proud to introduce the Dallas Residence 2 landscaping , a beautiful renovation located in downtown Dallas. The was a labor of love that married modern design to the regional beauty of Texas. Our site focused on creating a peaceful outdoor experience for the end user with style and functionality. The consisted of a multi-level garden design with native plants that would flourish in the Dallas climate, while providing low maintenance and active sustaining features since the plants were native. We employed high-quality materials, including site-sourced stone pathways and timber decking, to connect the various outdoor living areas. In the corner of the yard, we built a custom water feature to act as a visual focal point for the property, adding comfort, peace, and tranquility to the space while attracting local fauna. As with many s, we were met with challenges; in this case, the property was a very sloped site, requiring creative grading solutions to establish a unified layout. Our team of landscape architects creatively designed terraced gardens to allow for drainage while creating view levels in the yard. We also added LED landscape lighting to highlight specific plants in the garden while delivering a warm space to sit in the evenings. At the end of the process, the home felt like an escape with ample seating areas including a fire pit, significant greenery across the property, and comfortable seating juxtaposed with wonderful views. Ultimately, the end client was incredibly happy with the results, considering it beyond what he had imagined, and enjoyed sharing the spaces with family and friends.
