Zuma Residence Located in the midst of one of the best neighborhoods of Zuma Residence, the team at Russ Cletta Design Studio, Inc. was engaged in landscaping a beautiful mix of elegance and functionality to the area. The goal was to take a larger unfinished outdoor space, and design it into a lush landscape that relates to the modern build of the residence, and improves the overall ambiance of the space. The design employed beautiful varieties of California native plants that had extensive drought tolerance and are exceptionally hardy to climate fluctuations while establishing a vibrant and alluring composition almost year-round. Drought-tolerant plants, such as succulents and ornamental grasses, were used to support sustainability, and add to the functionality of the landscape. Beautiful hardscaping elements were also incorporated, including custom stone pathways, and a lovely water feature, and modern fire pit that allows for relaxing evenings outdoors, whether entertaining or simply enjoying the ambience outside. One of the major challenges experienced on this was the steep incline of the property. The design team was able to work with design to construct terraced garden beds that solved a drainage concern and created layers of greenery that were visually appealing. Utilizing and sourcing local materials appropriately ensured an appropriate and durable landscape that socially ties with the natural surrounding environment. The results are astonishing! The Zuma Residence is a calm outdoor retreat where lush gardens and well-designed hardscaping are functional, and an oasis is created for rest and relaxation. The client was very pleased with the realization of a functional outdoor living space with entertaining options included making their property inviting for family and friends to enjoy nature.
