Hillside Terrace by LandArt Associates, LLC. Located in the beautiful scenery of Ellicott City, ‘Hillside Terrace,’ by LandArt Associates, LLC., exemplifies our focus on quality and creativity in landscaping. Here, we transformed a steep and underutilized hillside into a stunning multi-level terraced garden that blends function and nature beautifully. The design includes an arrangement of hand-crafted stone retaining walls made from locally sourced granite that creates usable and distinct spaces. Each terrace includes an array of indigenous plants selected to survive the local climate and encourage biodiversity. The walkways are constructed with permeable paver for drainage and modern design aesthetic. A challenge we faced was the steep grade of the hillside, which created complications for access and drainage. Our team beautifully installed advanced erosion control measures, and the terraces were strategically engineered to appropriately manage grade challenges. The terraces remain functional while providing stability and longevity. The end result produced a specular outdoor space with an incredible variety of flowering plants, lush greenery, and places to sit and relax. The client was ecstatic with their new outdoor oasis and appreciated the landscape, which increased their property value and offered a tranquil space for family gatherings and quiet moments.
