Highlights: San Mateo Modern The San Mateo Modern by Kristen Rudger Landscape Design is a breathtaking example of modern landscape architecture that integrates seamlessly with nature. Located in the middle of San Mateo, this design incorporates both hardscape and softscape elements, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the property. The design features an extensive patio made from a beautiful porcelain tile that is durable and practical. The patio is elevated due to a modern fire pit made from natural stone that becomes a gathering spot for family and friends to enjoy on warm evenings. Drought resistant plants such as ornamental grasses, succulents and native California plants were ultimately selected for this client because they support the modern aesthetic and are good for our environment. Uneven topography of the site presented the design its main challenge. Kristen Rudger Landscape Design was able to take the challenge of the topography and successfully integrate tiered planting beds and distinct retaining walls along with adequate drainage. The end result is a stunning outdoor space that brings joy to the client. It meets the client's desire for modern beauty and a functional outdoor space. This exemplifies Kristen Rudger Landscape Design's emphasis upon quality construction and creative landscaping, and it looks beautiful throughout Atherton, Belmont, Burlingame, and beyond. This also enhanced property value while creating a peaceful oasis for the homeowners to enjoy again and again.
