Classic Design by Harmony Design Group Located in the center of Westfield, the 'Classic Design' completed by Harmony Design Group demonstrates a seamless balance of sophistication and function. This landscape was an instant transformation, commissioned to create an outdoor space that felt timeless, incorporated with the classic architecture of the home, and drew attention to its natural surroundings. From the start, our team was challenged with a steep sloping backyard that required some innovative grading. We designed a series of tiered gardens with quality natural stone retaining walls that provided soil stabilization and a finishing touch to the sophistication of the design. The gardens were planted with a rich palette of perennials, evergreens, and ornamental grasses that ensured year round beauty with minimal maintenance. To further enhance the outdoor experience, we designed a large patio out of permeable pavers that allowed for drainage while providing a stylish entertaining space. The patio includes a built-in fire pit with custom seating; perfect for a cool evening gathering! Low voltage exterior lights line the elegant pathways guiding guests through the lush landscape while highlighting striking features of the design. From a sustainability standpoint, we used local stone and native plants to provide a habitat for local wildlife, conservatively reducing water use in the New Jersey climate. The end result is a cohesive landscape that not only met, but exceeded the clients’ vision. The end product is a place of tranquility that adds elevated value to their home.
