About This Project

Summary: Bayou Residence McDugald-Steele is excited to present the 'Bayou Residence,' an exquisite landscaping that showcases our commitment to quality and creativity. Located in an expansive outdoor area of Houston's iconic River Oaks neighborhood, this has created a peaceful retreat that integrates thoughtfully with the natural surrounding areas. In the design, we developed a variety of lush native plants suitable for the Houston climate that would be sustainable and low-maintenance. We used quality materials including weather-resistant stone to create walkways and handsome wooden trellises, which enhanced the aesthetics and created usable outdoor living space. A standout element of this was a custom-designed water feature that provides calm ambiance and wildlife-ifulfilling interaction. Although our team was challenged by drainage and soil conditions in the process, we implemented creative solutions to ensure proper drainage and soil conditions for healthy plants. In this process, our expert landscapers utilized a structured drainage system and improved the soil using organic compost and soil amendments, making conditions right for the green to grow. The end result is a gorgeous landscape featuring an abundance of colorful flowers in the flower beds, seating areas to relax in the shade, and wandering pathways to beautifully accentuate and stimulate exploration. The Bayou Residence has achieved a remarkable balance of beauty and comfort for our client and is now greatly enjoyable for large family gatherings and quiet moments. McDugald-Steele is excited that we were able to be involved in this beautiful home's enhancement and look forward to enhancing more homes in Bellaire, Bunker Hill Village and beyond!
