About This Project

Moss Components in the Garden At Le Jardinet, we enjoy transforming outdoor space into restful getaways, and our most recent , “Moss Components in the Garden,” represents our emphasis on quality and creativity. Located in beautiful Duvall, this allows for the organic role of moss as a focal point in the design of the landscape. The client wished for a low-maintenance, sustainable garden that used native plants and contained various textures. To do this, we implemented a selection of moss species, such as cushion moss and sheet moss, that were arranged precisely to provide a soft, green treatment that promotes peace. The moss was paired with boulders that we sourced from local quarries; as we designed the space, boulders added structure and a natural element. During the implementation process, we encountered challenges inherent to the geography (such as various slopes and amounts of sun). Our landscape architects overcame challenges by designing an innovative system of terracing that created a functional approach to moisture and available sunlight, while still accentuating the soil, moss, and surrounding plantings. The choice to utilize creative terracing methods provided multi-dimensional visuals to the garden, while advancing its function. The end result is a wonderful garden that emphasizes the beauty of the moss interspersed with complimentary flora (ferns and perennials that tolerate shade) to create a peaceful space for the client. We take pride in our ability to craft thoughtful features while maintaining commercial-quality work, and the client was thrilled to have the type of garden that demonstrated aesthetic beauty and sustainability.
