BACKYARD PARADISE at Coogan's Design Build Coogan's Design Build has completed a beautiful transformation at our excited clients' property located in South Charlotte, the 'BACKYARD PARADISE' ! This had a complex landscape approach and relied on multiple pieces to create a landscape that is beautiful yet functional, creating an outdoor oasis. The started with an existing site assessment that noted the distinctive topography. Our team was able to ameliorate the various drainage concerns that had previously sat with this area, ensuring the flourishing landscape will thrive throughout the year. We utilized durable, quality materials, such as vernacular stone, hardy hardwood, and soil mixes, which brought it all together so the lush gardens and hardscapes can flourish. The 'BACKYARD PARADISE' included custom designed patio using stone pavers to create a space that a family and friends can gather. The patio is surrounded by native plant through perennial flowering shrubs that overtook the property and enhanced the aesthetics while providing ease of maintenance. The key feature was a water feature with a natural cascading waterfall that brought the space to life. The differentiated sounds of the water feature allow the clients to simply enjoy the backyard space. To round out the backyard aesthetic, the installation had careful outdoor lighting that allowed the backyard to be utilized day or night. The backyard kitchen space has a built-in grill and bar height seating that made this outdoor space at home a culinary paradise for gatherings and entertaining. The faced challenges with existing tree roots and unfilled height topography on the property, but the team ensured continued enhancement of the total aesthetics while preserving ecosystem balance at the site. The result of the quality design approach is a stunning retreat that the clients anticipated, met their dreams, and was worthy of their respect. BACKYARD PARADISE is now a family destination to enjoy, a destination to escape from life's busyness, and summarized several attributes of Coogan's Design Build's work - excellence, creativity, and craftsmanship.
