Seibert Residence The Seibert Residence, designed by Richard Hartlage Land Morphology, highlights the balance of art and nature in a stunning setting on Bainbridge Island. This extensive landscaping was developed to harmonize the home with its natural setting and provide functional outdoor living space for relaxing and entertaining. The center of the features a beautiful hardscape with stone pathways and patios made of local basalt that complements the architecture of the home and can withstand the unique climate of the Pacific Northwest. A beautiful water feature with a waterfall and koi pond creates an inviting focal point for wildlife and the enjoyment of guests. A vibrant palette of native plants has been selected to create a landscape that is biodiverse and sustainable, including ferns, flowering shrubs, and ornamental grass that thrive in the local climate. The layout of the plants was created for functional reasons including year-round color and texture, privacy, and tranquility in the outdoor space. One of the challenging site image constraints was the slope of the site, which required innovative grading designs to provide usable spaces without disrupting the natural flow of the landscape. The team incorporated erosion control measures to mitigate soil movement to ensure durability of all of the new elements. The end demonstrates a beautiful landscape that contributes to the beauty of the Seibert Residence and provides the family with an outdoor retreat.
