Hug: Mid Century Classic Ketti Kupper Conscious Life Design is pleased to provide the 'Mid Century Classic' landscape , which is a beautiful interpretation of mid-century formality and simplicity that echoes mid-century architecture right in Pasadena. The design was conceived as a blending of the home and the natural environment while accentuating the house's architectural elements. In the Mid-Century Classic design, we rest on a true balance of novelty and traditionalism and a blend of native plants and other perennial options we hope will be even prescriptive in a new interpretation of the outdoor landscape. Lush, low-water use landscape design with fragrant lavender, colorful succulents, and arching ornamental grasses is a thriving and visually stimulating palette in the Southern California climate. Local stone walks unify the design, guiding movement from space to space and allowing the different parts of the garden to relate to one another, and functionally exhibit sustainable features of the property. The challenge of this was an unforeseen uneven gradient of land across the property. Ketti Kupper Conscious Life Design find that many of the best designs can naturally balance on access or tiered beds and walls to achieve both structural successes in a more vertical landscape with added depth or dimension to the whole landscape experience. Reclaimed wood was used to form a low planter for the house that complemented the mid-century look, but functionally it lent warmth to the overall landscape design. We provided a mid-century modern sitting area for leisure times to help improve usability. Once completed, a curated outdoor living room was designed for experience and reflection of the clients' living concepts in all things social and casual outdoor life style.
