Lagoon Sculpture Garden by Pedersen Associates In the heart of Marin County, the Lagoon Sculpture Garden stands tall - a monument to the creativity and culture of Pedersen Associates. The Lagoon Sculpture Garden offers landscaping unique in that it not only enhances natural beauty of the site, it is also a canvas featuring sculptures beautiful in their own right that induce contemplation and appreciation. As a team, we curated the artful garden which incorporated a beautiful mix of native vegetation and sculptural elements, each representing the vast ecological array of the area. Existing materials such as stone pathways sourced locally and irrigation systems that are sustainable - we recognized and minimized ecological affect while maximizing the aesthetics of the site. The site presented a significant challenge, as the range of different topographical features required grading that allowed ways for individuals to easily move through the various sculptures while maintaining a connection amongst the lushness of the garden. Arranging the boulders as well as using methods of erosion control, we were able to invite interaction in and create areas inviting exploration aimed at turning slopes into usable spaces. The end product represents a tranquil destination which features meandering walkways with perennial borders and water features which reflect works of art, with movement, splendour and personality to each piece. Each sculpture was thoughtfully placed so elements naturally occurring in the garden inspire assumption to the piece business of dialogue. We take pride that each visitor leaves with a connection between nature, art, and conversation - a feeling of wonder and tranquility. The Lagoon Sculpture Garden has evolved into a precious attraction for the community - attracting visitors from Alto to Sausalito "- and for many more. Our commitment to workmanship and quality has represented the quality approach to create a pleasant experience to let the design emerge in mind often using quality as the avenue through which it emerged.
